Dwyer Magnehelic® 2000-5KPA Differential Pressure Gage – Wide Range Solution
Posted on: 10/07/2026
For industrial systems with higher differential pressures—such as high-capacity fans, dust collection systems, or air ducts in manufacturing plants—the model 2000-5KPA with a 5 kPa measurement scale from Dwyer's Magnehelic® Series 2000 is the ideal choice, while still retaining the exceptional accuracy and durability characteristic of this product line.
Why Choose Model 2000-5KPA?
Like other models in the Series 2000, the 2000-5KPA operates on Magnehelic® technology without requiring any power supply, allowing direct readings of differential pressure on a mechanical dial. With a maximum scale of 5 kPa, this model is perfectly suited for higher-range differential pressure measurement applications compared to the 2000-1KPA and 2000-2KPA, while maintaining long-term reliability in harsh industrial environments.

Installation and Operation Guide
The 2000-5KPA pressure gauge is a mechanical device. Its installation and calibration are relatively simple, but proper positioning and handling must be followed to ensure reading accuracy.
-
Select the installation position so that the dial face is always in a vertical position—this is the standard orientation to ensure the ±2% accuracy specified by the manufacturer. If tilted or horizontal installation is mandatory, the zero point must be recalibrated at the actual installation position.
-
Identify the High and Low pressure ports on the gauge body—usually clearly marked on the housing or in the accompanying technical documentation.
-
Connect the pressure signal tubes (flexible plastic tubing or small copper pipes) from the measuring points on the air duct/equipment to the corresponding High and Low ports, ensuring no leakage at the connectors.
-
Before operation, check and adjust the pointer to the exact "0" position using the zero-adjustment screw on the front cover (while both ports are open to the atmosphere without differential pressure).
-
Apply pressure to the system and observe the pointer on the dial face to read the actual differential pressure value.
-
Periodically clean the glass cover and recheck the zero point (approx. every 6-12 months) to maintain long-term accuracy, especially in high-dust environments or where there are vibrations from large fans/equipment.
⚠️ Note: With a measuring range of 5 kPa, this device is suitable for measurement points with large differential pressures. If the actual pressure frequently exceeds the scale, a higher-scale model should be selected to prevent diaphragm damage.
Practical Applications :
-
Monitoring differential pressure in industrial dust collection systems and baghouse filters.
-
Tracking the performance of high-capacity centrifugal fans in manufacturing plants.
-
Controlling air duct pressure in heavy industrial ventilation systems.
-
Applications in production lines requiring continuous pressure monitoring.
